FAQ
How fast can delivery be made?
We have all parts in stock. As soon as a customer orders, we start building the trailer. Depending on how busy it is, this takes about 2 weeks. Delivery/transport within Europe happens smaller parcels via Bpost or DPD and larger parcels via GLS. Outside Europe with Bpost or DPD for smaller parcels and DHL Express for larger parcels. So count on an average of between 2 to 3 weeks.
Which bike to use for the trailers
In principle, the trailer can be used with any type of bicycle. With a non-electric bike you obviously have to pedal a bit harder than with an electric bike. With electric assistance is of course easier and recommended for longer distances.
In principle, our standard coupling fits any bicycle. The central seat tube coupler also fits any bike. For the latter, different fitting rings have been added for different diameters of bikes. Should it be necessary or at the customer's request, we can adjust the coupling to a different type, e.g. of the Weber, Thule, Burley or other brand.
In the case of bicycles with a smaller rear wheel, e.g. 20-inch, the trailer may slope slightly.
Where is the trailer coupled to the bicycle?
Standard trailers are coupled on the rear axle of the bike. The trailers with 3rd wheel are coupled on the seat tube. The coupling can be changed to another type if needed.
We also make couplings with couplings for trailers like from cars or central couplings.
If you are unsure whether the coupling to your bike is possible, you can send a photo of your bike.
How much weight can I load?
We really recommend a maximum weight of 150 kg. Why not more? 150 kg is really already a big weight to pull behind the bike. We have competitors who claim up to 300 kg. We think that's downright dangerous! Especially if you want to set off uphill with a load you are just pulling backwards or ride downhill with a weight/load you also need to be able to brake safely.
For heavier weights, we recommend the heavy load coupling (found in the options) or an extra axle and wheels so the weight is better distributed. This does not mean you can overload though!
It is important to adjust your riding style with heavier weights! After all, you are the truck among bikes and trucks also drive slower!
Beware! In some countries there is a maximum weight set for trailers without a braking system. In Belgium, this is 80 kg.
Can a brake system be applied to the trailer?
We do not install brake systems ourselves, but this is possible. We advise you to check in your neighbourhood or at your own bike shop. There are motors (that also provide electrical assistance) that can be fitted to the front wheel (3-wheel trailer) that has the ability to brake. In Belgium, you can contact the company Crystalyte for this.
How are the trailers made?
The frame is made of TIG-welded aluminium. The axle and tie rod are made of stainless steel. This combination makes for a very light construction that is still very strong and weatherproof. The weight of each model is shown in the description. For example, model L weighs 18 kg. We prefer welding instead of screwing because it is stronger.
Dimensions
Width: A trailer with a 60 cm wide frame is 80 cm wide with wheels. A trailer with a frame 80 cm wide is 100 cm wide with wheels. 10 cm for each wheel on each side. Trailers 60cm wide are ideal for Euronorm bins. Trailers 80 cm wide are ideal for pallets.
Length: As standard, we make trailers in 3 lengths: 120 cm, 180 cm and 240 cm. With the tie rod included, the length is slightly longer.
Custom frames are possible. Contact us for this.
Do not be afraid to order a trailer that is too large. Once customers get used to the trailer, they often regret not having ordered a larger one.
Double or single axle? Or 3-wheel trailer?
A double-axle trailer or 3-wheel trailer is better for heavier weights because the weight is better distributed over the trailer and more wheels. A double-axle trailer remains more stable during loading. You can perfectly start with a single axle and order an extra axle with wheels later. All holes are provided on the frame for this purpose. You can also start with a standard trailer with tie rod on the rear axle of the bike and upgrade later with the system for 3rd wheel. A trailer 3rd wheel can also be pulled by hand. With 3rd wheel in front, you can turn shorter because the trailer hinges at 2 points, i.e. under the saddle and at the 3rd wheel.
Frequently chosen options?
- Hooks
- Floor plate
How much does shipping cost?
The trailers are welded and large and therefore cannot be sent by standard parcel post, but are sent by freight transport. The price depends on your location, model and weight of the trailer. Send us a message via the contact form with your location and the model you want to buy. We will then send back a quote with the shipping costs.
Where do we ship to?
Worldwide! From Europe, United Kingdom to United States, but also to the East.
Do you have to assemble anything on the trailer yourself?
Yes, because the trailer is delivered in the flattest possible box to keep transport costs as low as possible.
With standard trailers, you still have to assemble the drawbar and wheels. With 3-wheel trailers, you still have to mount the drawbar on the fork of the 3rd wheel, the bracket for the 3rd wheel on the trailer and the wheels.
Assembly is not difficult and usually takes 30 minutes.
You can find a manual at the About Us page at the very bottom.
Why are our trailers less expensive than other manufacturers?
We do as much as possible ourselves. We work with as little stock as possible, which means we need less space. We use smaller margins. We use standard materials that we adapt as much as possible. Reuse packaging materials as much as possible.
But perhaps we should turn the question around. Why are other manufacturers so expensive?
Can you use the trailer with a moped?
In principle, yes, but it is not made for it and therefore do not recommend it.
Are there any discounts/donations for charity or non-profit group?
We receive many requests for donations or discounts. We would love to honour every request we receive, but being a small company, we simply cannot afford it. We have decided that the most equitable solution is to charge everyone the same price.
Can I get a discount if I help promote your products?
No, sorry.
Do you have dealer prices?
We give dealers/bicycle dealers a 17% commission on prices on the website. We don't have a catalogue. Our website is our catalogue.
